Displacement of the program offers a modern version of cleansing.
Additions include a sauna and yoga studio.

The concept of cleansing is based on the practice of the Japanese tea ceremony, and displacement design operatives are incorporated to be of our time and place for the here + now.

CARETAKERS' HOUSE

A Caretaker House for the attendants of Project 1 -- a Japanese Teahouse.
The entrances to the private spaces are displaced with thresholds through the bathroom, emphasizing the notion of cleansing and challenging/modernizing the rules of "domestic inhabitation."
